[Solved]HTC Vive and X-Plane 11 not working

Postby Pete1261 » Sun Sep 17, 2017 2:46 pm

I wanted to try VR in X-Plane on a Windows 10 machine, with X-Plane 11.05 and a HTC Vive.
Start up Flyinside demo. I get to the menu where there is a "window" floating on the left side that says "Waiting for Sim". Above you have the buttons "load flight, select aircraft, goto airport, show mirror". OK, the only one that works is show mirror. Right from that I can see the X-Plane 11 startup screen with the buttons below "Import window, large desktop view". If I hit large desktopview, I indeed get a large view, where I can select for example "new flight". Then I can select an aircraft which up till now is OK. But as soon as I click on an aircraft, I get a messed up X-Plane screen (See Picture). If I hit return there to choose "start flying" (which is only slightly visible on the bottom right) the simulator starts, but I end up with a "stereo" type picture(s) in the left lens of my vive, and the right lens is black. Impossible to fly with, as you can think. The mirrored window on the monitor seems to work ok, and is showing what the vive is supposed to be showing (but isnt). What am I doing wrong? Any help would be apreciated...

Sorry for the long delay in answering. But the load at Work leaves little time for flying.
Tony you are a life saver! Thanks!
While writing out my Specs from my machine using the Radeon software system desription (I7-4770K with Radeon RX480-8Gb) I decided to check the AMD software version. Needed an update. Low and behold... After the update... IT WORKS! Thank you so much. Don't know why I didn't think of It sooner...
Case closed. Thanks again. Just needed a little push in the right direction.
