Seems to run pretty smooth regardless of framerates shown on screen, i have always ignored fps with fsx as a whole as i tend to have a smooth consistency throughout. i am using these settings with scenery and aircraft addons in use, any useful tips welcome

Its very interesting, I will try that after I come back home. I feel a little skeptical about the fact that you are enforcing vsync in nvidia contol panel. Most things run like crap in VR if you have vsync on.
