FlyInside Crash

Postby jimh20 » Mon Jul 10, 2017 7:43 am

Hi,
I've had repeated crashes this morning with an error message which disappears before I can catch it. I'm also getting a message that FlyInside can't find Oculus, although Oculus is running. My system has been really stable up to now.
I've attached a log file, plus an error file from a few minutes preceding the log. Hopefully you can set me right.

Regards, Jim

Could the cameras.cfg file be the problem?

Cameras.cfg looks ok. First time I've ever looked at it, have never knowingly messed with it!

Anything useful I can do with it?

Had another go. Managed to catch the short lived error message, make a print screen, and OK it.

I've attached a jpeg of the error message, plus the error.txt it mentioned. I hope this is of some help.

Jim

Edit: I expect it's entirely irelevent, but FlyInside XP is working OK.

Jim have you tried saving your fsx.cfg somewhere and letting it rebuild ?

Hi Tony,

First off, prompted by Stevil to look at cameras.cfg, I found a backup Cameras.cfg and restored it, with no more luck. I then renamed Prepar3d.cfg to let P3D rebuild it and found P3D v3.4 would start up directly and run OK on my monitors. Following that I had to go back to normal duties 'till tonight when I decided to uninstall FlyInside completely, and re install v1.81. To my relief (and surprise) FlyInside worked perfectly first time, and I have the distinct impression that the Sim is running better than it has done for some time!

Prompts from the Forum led me to a solution, so thank you both. I'm sticking with P3D v3.4 'till Dan and the team master v4.

Cheers, Jim

Hi again,

My success of last night has been short lived. P3D will perform normally on my three monitors, but via FlyInside I can set up a flight in the Scenario screen, see the flight is active on the monitor, but almost as soon as I don the Rift, the scene freezes and the computer crashes.

I've attached a log and an error file. I have two other error files, one 632,978 Kbs!

Hope you can help?

Regards, Jim

I've zipped up the error and log files as I don't seem to be able to post with them attached separately.
