[Solved]Flyinside XP Crashes

Postby malong » Sun Nov 12, 2017 8:11 pm

I just installed a new Oculus Rift today and attempted to download and run the Flyinside XP trial. I am running X-Plane 11.05 64-bit. The Oculus App version is 1.20.0.474906. When I launch Flyinside it asks me to set my graphics adapter twice. Both the headset and the monitor are plugged into an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080. This is the only graphics adapter installed. I select these and press the "Start Flyinside FSX!" button. (The button label does seem a bit strange since I am running the X-Plane version.) I get "Please restart Flyinside XP so that the new adapter settings can take effect" message. I click OK and start Flyinside XP again. This time it starts a "stereo" version of X-Plane in a window and then reboots the PC every time.

After the reboot I run the Flyinside XP trial again and get the same sequence. First it asks me to set my graphics adapter. Then it asks me to restart. When I run it the second time it crashes and reboots the PC.

Any ideas?

Mike do you get an error log for Flyinside? It will be under appdata/roaming/Flyinside folder

A couple of additional bits of info:

I get exactly the same behavior when I try FlyInside FSX so I don't think it is related to a particular sim.

I am attaching the latest log file. This was after I attempted to run FlyInside FSX.

Thanks,

Mike

I cannot see any clue that FlyInside crashed in the logfile...

I didn't see anything either, though since I just started trying to use FlyInside I'm not sure I'd recognize a problem if I saw it.

I don't actually see a program crash, a blue screen or anything like that. FlyInside starts the flight sim, either XPlane or FSX, the screen goes dark and the computer reboots. I'm not sure if the screen goes dark and then it reboots or the screen goes dark because it reboots. They basically happen at the same time.

I reinstalled some USB drivers and FlyInside XP is working now.

I don't know what the issue was. The Oculus was working before with the old drivers as was the joystick, rudder pedals, etc. For some reason uninstalling a Generic Superspeed USB Hub and rebooting to reinstall the device seems to have fixed things.

Thanks for your attention anyway.
