Aerosoft A318/319 extended - Thumbs Up

Postby fenflame » Sun Dec 18, 2016 12:25 am

I've been having some great luck with the Aerosoft Airbus Extended A318/A319 models. The cockpit looks outstanding in the highest resolution, all of the instruments are readable and all of the switches and controls work properly.
Given the complexity of this aircraft, it has really good FPS with no major jitters. I also found I didn't get the awful slowdowns in certain clouds with AS16 either.

Currently the most immersive model I own and I would say the one with the least issues too. I can't actually think of any. I don't use GSX or FSCrew with it as I know they will degrade performance.

Frames wise I'm getting 30/94 to 50/94 depending on airport/traffic/weather etc. Even departing from KBOS with a half full airport, heavy snow and very dense clouds coverage the worse it got to was 27 FPS and that was only because I was taxiing behind 3 other planes in a snow storm :)

My specs are in the footer, Currently on the lastest Nvidia drivers, FI 1.71, latest Oculus update (updated itself yesterday)

Thanks, Alan.

I mostly agree but only if you use it via mouse and keyboard. Leapmotion and vive controllers work ok but not perfect (push/pull fcu knobs, arming ground spoilers, throttle control and ECAM page buttons do not work). The resolution (with the vive) is good enough to read most of the "important stuff" but to read MCDU or button labels I need to zoom. Especially letters/numbers or "thin-lined" stuff looks as if it gets a little to much anti aliasing - but that might be a vive+FI specific problem.
Anyhow it looks nice :) same goes for the A320/321 from Aerosoft btw.

Hello,

I also possess a vivid and airbus a318 / 319.
In general everything works well but it is almost impossible to program the MCDU.
Is it possible to open it in another window ??

I also have two empty windows that open with written> cheklist ... what does this fit?

thks

The Aerosoft Airbus? Yes, run AirbusX-ConnectExtended after the sim is running (turn on WebServer in the configurator first), open a browser and put in the address it shows at he botton right IP:PORT. So for example HTTP://127.0.0.1:3000

That gives you a web based MCDU, which will work on another monitor, iPad, Android tablet, etc
Alienware Aurora R5, Core 6700, 16GB RAM, 1070 GTX, Oculus CV1. It's a great system, believe me. People tell me all the time- they say "Hey, that's a great system". The best. Just terrific.

You cannot arm the spoilers by dragging the lever beyond minimum, but a single, right mouse click does allow you to arm them.

I agree with the above posts. I'm getting great fps (50-60) on a fairly modest machine.

Hi,

Lately I'm seeing frequent crashes with the Aerosoft Airbus and FlyInside ver 1.81, on P3d 3.4.latest.

The only thing I am running alongside this combo is the SmartCars program for my virtual airline.

After P3D crashes, I restart FI and attempt to load the saved scenario / checkpoint, (I have FSUIPC doing autosaves every 5 mins). It will not reload with FI (the sim starts but upon loading the scenario, its a black screen and a spinning Windows 'wait' cursor, and "Prepar3d is not responding message)..., but if I restart P3D stand alone (without FI), then load the scenario, I can resume the flight just fine.

What is up with that ? Can anyone comment ?
