Yeah, I spoke too soon, I tried to fly back to EDDM, and at around FL160 the cockpit turned black in parts, while the rest looked like binocular zoom was turned on, and the windows only displayed reflections. Changing AA settings in XP11 solved it, so I continued, then during descent where XP changes the fog around the plane the whole screen went black. Changing AA settings once again solved it and I could finish the flight. Performance was pretty bad both times for while after changing settings, but settled after a few minutes. Worth mentioning that when someone suggested changing AA earlier while it worked, but it always resulted in a crash seconds later, now it didn't, and that might be due to RC1 being more stable.

EVGA 1080FTW here with 16GB RAM and i'm getting fairly frequent black screens when using the Rift. Just a thought, is it just Rift users getting this or do Vive users get it too?

Like most others, i can get it back by removing HDR, but changing it back to HDR again returns it to the same state. I tend to run Afterburner at all times and the VRAM usage is definitely very high, at almost 8GB and i do not see that very often at all.

BTW i have turned off the hypoxia/blackout setting in Xplane, so that checkbox must not be working entirely if this is a case of untimely hypoxia.

I have a Radeon R9 290 Tri-X with 4GB RAM. System is an AMD CPU running at 4.2GHz, 16GB RAM. When I launch FlyInside XP my Vive fades to black and that's all I see. Same exact thing happens in P3D since the latest update. I've tried updating to the latest graphics drivers, setting Textures and Detail to Low (disabling HDR), underclocking and overclocking my GPU. So far no luck at all. It's been a while devs, any news on this?

Apologies - i think you guys do a great job communicating, but is your link post supposed to say this is going to attempt to be fixed in the 1.8 release (that currently is pending a release date)? Is that the message intended to take away from that post?

Thank you guys for being so active on the forums with updates. Makes everything so much easier to deal with.

Hi drogpac,

the message is that the devs are working heavily to fix this bug. Hopefully this will soon be fixed. Until then you can try to fly with texture quality set to minimal/low. At least this often prevents the black screen - and this is not meant to be a fix or workaround. It's just something you can try to enjoy longer flying.

Until now I have not been experiencing this problem. I've just acquired the Aerobask Eclipse 550, visually stunning but I imagine more resource hungry. My screen is now going black after a period of time, although elements of the grey clouds remain.

Nvidia 1080

Looking forward to the fix, thanks

This could be because, like you already pointed out, the Eclipse 550 uses more memory compared to other planes.
Setting the texture quality lower could at least let you fly a longer time until a fix is out. We are sorry for this and we're also hoping that there will be a fix soon for this.

Best regards
Stephan
