Starting p3d without flyinside

Postby August78 » Sat Oct 28, 2017 8:29 am

Im trying to start p3d v3.4 without flyinside. I have the latest retail version of flyinside for htc vive installed. Because I'm currently using chaseplane (which is not compatible with flyinside), I dont want to use flyinside right now. But everytime I start my sim, steam VR launches, and I get an error box saying that camera.cfg is wrong/missing (a flyinside error message). Why cant I launch p3d without flyinside kicking in?

You can get p3d working normally again I think by going into your p3d folder and renaming "opengl32.dll" to "opengl32_disabled.dll". This will turn off FlyInside entirely. Give that a try but you'll need to change it back when you ready.

Have same issue with X-Plane running as FlyInside demo.. Isn't there a less clunky way to turn it off rather than having to go in and rename a file??

Why don’t you write yourself a batch file which automatically renames the file and starts P3D or FlyInside?

Stevil, how about you doing that for me? I really don't know how to write batch files. I'd appreciate it if it isn't too much work.

I looked up how to write batch files and wrote one to turn the app on and one to turn it off. Looks like it's working. Thanks.

There should of course be a restore P3D button in Flyinside. I thought I could use the original P3D shortcut to use P3D without Flyinside. Obviously not. Why is it important to start P3D with the Flyinside shortcut then?
I love this product, but it feels like a Beta, not a finished product.
