XP night flights looks absolutely terrible?

Postby MrZoops » Thu Mar 30, 2017 11:12 am

Its as if all the colors are banding and crushed. Looks like an 8bit Nintendo game at night. Do we know what is causing this or any fix?

The pictures below are in pitch black at the airport, take with camera through the rift lens. It looks perfectly normal on my desktop window.

Never seen anything like this. Are you using HDR? Which weather addon do you have?

Yes using HDR, no weather addons. Are you saying your night flights do not look like this? Can you send any photos? I have tested 2 different rifts and they both look the same.

Mine do not look like that. However the lights in XP at night are way to bright and large. Any way to make them smaller and less bright?

Well now I am concerned. I thought this issue was for everyone and a limitation of the rift. I am really worried and have no idea why mine would be looking like this.

Tony, I will post that stuff but this is the same issue that was happening with p3d at night as well. It seems to be a combination of the way certain games are made plus the rift. It doesn't look like this for me in Elite dangerous... But if someone else with a rift has no issues flying at night, then I am at a loss.

If night flights would look like that for all Rift users I think we would have a whole bunch of people complaining here.
Maybe Tony knows what's wrong there!

Ok I Whizzed home to try on my break. I tried all permutations of the settings and cannot replicate this mate. I see this =

I see the bug that Stephan picked up on, The clouds rendering in one eye, it's like you can see through them to the surrounding hills or mountains, but that bug I made Dan aware of. What you are getting is strange ???
