Best Charts for use with P3D/Flyinside

Postby LCYCowboy » Fri Nov 03, 2017 4:32 am

I'm just getting back into IFR flying (now the fantastic Majestic DH8D works flawlessly in VR / and the Maddog is on the way).

Which airport/approach charts do you guys use inside Flyinsde?

Is there an easy way to display them within the flight deck?

Thanks

Neil

I added charts to my Navigraph data, by going for their ultimate subscription and they come with both a desktop manager and a web-based version called Navigraph Charts Cloud, both of which allow you to plot your aircraft's current position on some of the charts.

Some aircraft addons are starting to come with a browser as part of the in cockpit displays and they will probably allow you to use the web-based charts cloud, If not, as the desktop version and the charts cloud, which runs in a browser should be able to be imported into the FI VR cockpit.

I think there are some freeware charts on the web, that you could use also and you should be able to find these via Google.

I've subscribed to the Navigraph charts, but when using their own "Navigraph Charts Desktop", the imported window is either huge, or the writing is so small you can't read it.

I know there used to be a way of setting up a PDF kneeboard in the sim, but this doesn't seem to work with P3D v4.

Anyone got a good way of displaying PDF charts (short of each one imported separately)?

Thanks

Neil

Have you tried using the charts via charts cloud through a browser and then importing that?
