[Solved]Transparency of imported windows

Postby LCYCowboy » Tue Nov 14, 2017 7:07 am

I've managed to import PDF charts into FI (unfortunately one at a time), but when ever you click on the virtual cockpit, they become transparent.

I am trying to position them above the yoke (where they would clip on), but as they become transparent, they become very difficult to read.

Another problem is that the resolution is really bad, so that when I use the zoom function to read smaller writing, the res is so blocky that it is almost impossible to read (the imported charts are A4 size pdfs, which are fine when viewed on the desktop).

I have a couple of suggestions:
1. Go into C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\FlyInside
2. Find the .ini file relevant to your simulator
3. Look for the [UI] section. If you don't have a [UI] section add one
4. Add the line "Inactive Window Transparency = 1.0"
5. Start FlyInside

This should make the windows stay opaque for you. As far as resolution, I'm not sure what would cause that. Is the PDF window very small if you take your headset off and look on your desktop?

Thanks,
Dan

Yes, this worked fine.

I now have all my windows showing with no transparency.

Thanks for the tip Dan!

ps. Maybe this could be an option (although I realise that all options would result in a very long list in the options menu)
