Meltdown & Spectre (KB4056892)

Postby Badl4ndz » Sat Jan 06, 2018 1:14 pm

Regarding the recent disclosure of the vulnerabilities exposed in CPUs particularly Intel (Meltdown and Spectre). Microsoft has just released - 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892) for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Edition. It has been said that this sticky plaster will negate the hardware vulnerability in software at some potential cost to performance. My 4th Gen 4790K based PC just got updated before I got chance to benchmark pre update. Has anyone noticed any reduction in performance since your Windows 10 has updated with this patch?

Hi Keith,

I'm all up to date now my bios has updated. I don't notice any difference from before.

Cheers, Jim
