Flying the Virtavia Tornado F3 with P3D V4.2 and FlyInside V1.92 with Oculus Rift.
Using the Thrustmaster I can extend the flaps/wings but not retract.
Using OR Touch I can grab all the controls but the flight controls seem erratic and notchy.
Is anyone else finding the same thing or do I need to be looking at settings?

Not all aircraft (a lot actually) are optimised for VR. This causes misaligned grab functions and all sorts of anomalies. I bet most developers of older add-ons have zero interest in updating for us all

Investigating further, I can select all the functions using touch but the flaps up is inhibited on the Thrustmaster. It’s the same in native VR so may be a P3D issue.
The sim flies smoothly using the thumb joystick but notch’s with the virtual hands.
This is hugely exciting if this capability can be delivered.
Just Flight are developing a new F3 so maybe this has the potential to work from the off.

Also an issue with other more modern simulations such as the MilViz F4J and Just Flight Tornado GR1

The JF tonker is a resource hungry white elephant in my opinion!!! I have the milviz F4 and run it just fine. What problem with that are you getting? Out of place knobs and controls again ?

Different functions are not working with the F4J. The throttles refuse to move and the speedbrakes are inoperative.
I should have said that the HOTAS was working fine with V4.1 and only experienced this on update. Reverting to the previous version did not fix it which is odd.
