Fatal Error

Postby WWFCAZ » Thu Dec 14, 2017 12:24 am

Was using FlyInside for P3Dv3 previously with no issues and have made the jump to P3Dv4. Was testing trial of P3D for v4 version 1.9 (to see how it performed prior to purchase) and received a fatal error (rendering issue - lost the full description when P3D closed). I have attached the error log and appreciate help and guidance to get this up and running.

Hardware specs as follows:

Processor i7-8700K @ 5Ghz
RAM 16GB
Mobo ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero wi-fi
Graphics GTX1080

Flyinside P3D4 v1.9
Oculus Rift CV1 (latest update installed)
P3Dv4 Academic 4.1.7.22841

In my non-VR setup I have been using reShade and PTA2.6. For Flyinside, I changed the filename of dxgi.dll in the P3D root folder (to prevent starting reShade) and deleted the Shaders folder in Appdata/Local/Lockheed Martin. The reShade message did not appear when doing this but Flyinside still crashed. Are there more steps required to disable my non-VR settings or restore default shaders?

In pta 2.6 have you reset everything to default ? I think reshade has that option also ?

Thanks - that did the job.

I reenabled dxgi.dll, restored default settings in reshade (in 2D via the in-game menu), restored default settings on PTA2.6 and I also had URP v1.1 setup with shaders and restored those to default.

Flyinside worked again after that (and what a treat too). Now all I need to find is an easy way to restore the shader settings when going between 2D and VR.

Great job with the product again (time to rebuy - sad that I missed the discount period) - much better than the in-game VR support (by a long way).
