Shimmering is back

Postby ChrisK » Mon Dec 18, 2017 7:20 am

 With the 1.9 Version i am now getting the same shimmering in P3DV3 as in P3DV4 even with shimmer reduction tagged.
Guys what have you done ?
Going back to 1.81 solves the problem for P3DV3, but still not for P3DV4.

Yes, something maybe going on since I upgraded to 1.9, My system really struggles with Orbx payware airports now, even when flying medium complex 3rd party aircraft like Alabeo , the performance hit is too great, clarity and FOV are out the door. Scenery can't keep up with head movement. I mostly fly p3dv3, I have never been impressed with p3dv4 with my PC rig. I will have to play around with FOV and Reso settings to eliminate a few things and report back. It may be my PC.

Played around for a couple of hours. Going by memory of my experience with earlier versions of flyinside and my now 1.9, I think the shimmering is pretty much the same, although a bit worse at my Orbx payware airports , as one would expect. Individual settings may play a little part, but a small degree of shimmering is there even with basic scenery and generic aircraft. I think current PC power and the oculus or equivalents are the real culprits for the time being.
