Prepar3d 4.1.7 Crashes with Flyinside 4.1 HIVE test install

Postby captflyby » Sat Dec 30, 2017 9:00 pm

I had Prepar3d 4.0.6.xxxxx working beautifully with flyinside test. (15 min)

I had to upgrade Prepar3d 4.0.6 to Prepar3d 4.1.7 in order to use the new VRS FA 18E.

Prepar3d 4.1.7 & VRS FA 18E 4.x VIVE work fine together now.

Installed the flyinside to test out the VIVE and Prepar3d 4.1.7 crashes.

Is anyone else having the same trouble.

Any suggestions.

Going back to Prepar3d 4.0.6 is NOT an option.

Thanks to all in advance.

Did you already search the forum ... yes
Which version of Fly Inside P3D do you use? answered in post above
Which version of P3D do you use? answered in post above
What P3D plugins do you use? No plugins so far. New install of P3d v4.1
Do you use reshaders ? None that I am aware of
Please upload the log file. See attachment
Sometimes it also makes sense to upload the log file from P3D. Cannot locate.
Are your drivers up to date? Yes Nvidia 1080Ti and Nvidia 1060
Are you running our software on a laptop? No. Desktop Win 10 16 GIG RAM 1 GIG SSD drive duel video HTC VIVE
Is your HMD plugged directly into the HDMI-port of the accelerated GFX-card? ?? VIVE has a box that commects all wiring, then plugs into computer and power. This is the only option.

Also, note that it does work occasionally, just not all the time.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I also have one follow up question.

It occurred to me that because I was using the 15 minute version that perhaps I
needed the full version to fix this issue.

I purchased the full version activation code, but have attempted several times to
"reinstall" the flyinside in order to get an activation menu.

There is no activation menu that comes up. It just re-installs and then onto the program.
No activation offered. I am stuck in the 15 minute window.

Suggestions on how to activate this, other than reinstalling, would be very welcome.

Thank you in advance for all your assistance.

You are using a SLI configuration right? Try to disable it and try again!

Regarding 15min limit:

Uninstall it and delete the folder in Appdata\Roaming\FlyInside

Here is an additional screen that comes up after re-installing and attempting to find the activation page / link / screen ... don't know exactly.

Thank you.

No SLI.
Just using Nvidia 1080Ti only for the flight sim.
Other video card is used occasionally for other purposes when NOT using the flight sim.

OK I unistalled, deleted the folder under appdata and reinstalled.
Still no option to activate.
Just an option to set which video card I use.
Then it attemps to start and crashes.

Here is some information that may be useful.

I have the flyinside desktop shortcut, created by flyinside at install, set to run as
administrator. That does not seem to keep it from crashing.

But, when I right click on that same shortcut, still set to run as administrator, and say "run as administrator", it seems to run ok.

Activation solved - the activation box comes up only in the VR headset.
Once you choose to activate, then you use your normal monitor.
I was thinking the VR would not be available until after activation. My bad.

I uninstalled, then rebooted, then reinstalled, then activated.
Still crashes at startup.
My activation theory proved wrong.
I just keep trying until it finally works.
If anyone has a solution - it would be greatly appreciated.
