Excessive Flashing in P3dv4 with Flyinside

Postby cobrakev » Mon Jan 15, 2018 7:16 pm

I just upgraded to a 8700k with 1080ti and wow the flashing allover the cockpit. Ive tried to get back to native VR in Prepar3d but the frames were not as good. However there is all this flashing going on inside flyinside while flying. Its so distracting and becoming a nightmare to use FI anymore. My last rig was a 980ti in SLI and a 6700k and didn't have any problems. is there something I can do to eliminate all this flashing. its on the dash and water wings seats glass it everywhere. its not continuous but it happens about every 3 to 5 seconds in a random area on the Oculus. it last for a split second but its very distracting.

Do you have msi afterburner running in the background ? Try process lasso a great program that sorts out things you don't need in the background and give priority to your sim.

I'm on a hero 8 board and no probs.....I wonder if new pipelines on the motherboard may be causing problems ? Process lasso is free to try before you buy, so yes try it ;)

Always working on updates mate ;) Hang tight for a bit....we may have an issue with the latest Oculus runtime.

I'm spamming this all over as I feel its a problem for a number of people.

The latest Nvidia drivers (390.xx) are a nightmare. Go back to at least an early 388.xx version. Also opt out of Oculus public Beta if you are in it and untick Rift Core too. That should take care of it.
I had this same problem and this cured it.

Tony,
The problems are with Oculus 'Beta' drivers not the current released version. However, I think its more to do with the Nvidia drivers and not FI. I spent an entire day chasing this down yesterday on my own system.
The flashing was nauseating with these new drivers. Some people can't even get the CV1 to even stat up with the 390 drivers.
