Flyinside FSX-SE crashing to desktop mid flight

Postby danmoore1019 » Sat Jan 20, 2018 4:52 am

I am hoping I can find a way to run this, it's way better than a triple monitor setup. Currently I am using the latest demo version with FSX-SE and Oculus Rift CV1. I was planning to buy the full version, but I keep getting the hour glass and the crash to Oculus Home/Desktop after anywhere from 1 minute of flying or more. FSX-SE is freshly installed with no mods. I have only tested with trikes, the Piper Cub, and the Cessnas. My Specs are:

GTX 1060 3gb
i5-7400 @ 3.3 ghz
8 gb DDR4
1TB HDD

My graphics drivers are up to date, as well as my other drivers.
I've tried any and all fixes I can find/think of. I would love to get this working. Just hoping hoping it's not a video ram problem insufficiency because I really can't afford to buy a new graphics card right now, this one is pretty new.

I have gotten three different event logs:

This is the usual one :

Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9a9a

X-Plane 11 is running amazingly in comparison. I guess I'm just going to have to convert. Solid 40 FPS with medium graphics settings and resolution, FXAA and V-Sync. Only a few times has it sent me back to the flyinside home while it quickly loaded up some lagging scenery. An SSD may be helpful there. FSX hasn't aged well anyway, with it's OOM crashes and what-not. I appreciate you guys developing this software; flight sim is going to be a major part of the future of VR. Time to pick up the full version so I can finally take a King Air on a x-country trip ;)
