Crash after Win 10 latest update today sept 13

Postby jP2308 » Wed Sep 13, 2017 9:25 pm

Hi all, until today's last win10 update, Flyinside 1.81 was loading nicely with p3d v3.4. Then suddenly, after today's (unsollicitaded!) win 10 update, it loads p3d OK but once done, it reports an error and the whole thing shuts down.
Weird...I've reinstalled p3d, updated my NVidia drivers, and reinstalled FlyInside with no success...
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks. Turns out that everything works fine this morning!!! I tried rebooting twice yesterday and it wasn't working. But today, everything is fine.
Go figure!!!!

Having the same issue after an update. I rolled back the system sith system restore and it worked. Then over night it reloaded the update and Im back to a CTD. I can get to the screen where I am in the v/c but then it crashes. I unistalled and reinstalled the P3D client and opening it from the desktop icon allows me to fly but trying from FI I get the CTD.

How do I get a crash report?

I'm going to try and reinstall FI as well and see if that helps.

This seems to be a specific issue with Windows Update KB4038788 and possible addons.

There is a (currently) 5 page thread on the LM forums about it found here:
http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=126667

For now I have uninstalled the update file and all is working normally. I have also disabled windows update until MS gets a chance to work with LM to find a fix. I learned how to do that in various post in that thread.

Hope this helps others.
