Hotfix for Windows 10 creators update 17/04/2017

Postby Tony » Mon Apr 17, 2017 4:02 pm

Hi All,

As some of you have discovered, the Windows 10 Creators Edition update has broken compatibility with FlyInside FSX. We have a hot-fix here, which should solve the problem:

Please give this a download/test, and report back. If this fixes the startup crash for others, we'll push this live to the main site.

Thanks,
Dan

I run Windows 10 and had the issue where FSX would not start in VR or non-VR mode after the latest Windows update. FSX only then started after I uninstalled FlyInside.

This update seems to fix the issue as I can now run FSX in VR.

On an unrelated issue, is there anyway to stop FlyInside automatically changing the Windows audio device to the Vive? (I use a pair of wireless headphones, and FI occasionally switches to the Vive audio after loading which means that I have to quite, change audio device and reload - which irritates the hell out of me!)

I’m not sure if it’s related but it also broke P3D v4.1 - before the Fall Creators update I was getting at least 60/90 FPS and after the update less then 1 FPS. I uninstalled the Windows update and performance was restored.
