So far so good.. and only head tracking?

Postby adriansw » Fri May 06, 2016 9:56 am

Found the software last night by accident.

So far, it looks nice.
Off to a good start.
Really looking forward to controller support...
.
Question though:
Right now, my movements seem to be limited?.
I tried leaning forwards and backwards (to change my POV) and nothing?...
Is that right, or.....?

Something not right there mate ? Can you post your system specs for us ? Quite a few users have the vive and will help asap. But just run us through the problem again ? Do you have full tracking with other programs ?

From what you say it sounds like you have some tracking since you say your movements seem limited? Is it the Chaperone grid lighting up? Just FYI, if that is what is going on you can move well outside that grid as long as your HMD can get enough signal from the Lighthouse base stations. Just be careful as you are purposefully moving outside the limits you previously said were hard limits. You don't wnat to hit things or knock things over. If you lose all tracking, the screens just go gray (wish they would revert to the forward-facing camera or give you the choice but I'm sure that's coming).

Your movements ought to track what you are physically doing 1:1 since the virtual space is mapped exactly to the real space. Do you have 1:1 for some movement and then are constrained at the limits? That would be a new one if that is what is going on.

Only other thing I can think of you may not have your lighthouses well placed or maybe one has moved since you set up your space. That will confuse things. Have you re-run room setup to make sure everything agrees where the base stations are located? Once you set up the room, you can't move the base stations without re-running setup. Thinking about it, I wonder if this might not be what has happened.

Full head-tracking should work. Is it possible that you have interfering camera plugins like EZDok?

You have to disable EZDOK (if you use it). You can press 3 on the numpad
