Adjusting seat position

Postby bertrand » Sat May 28, 2016 7:28 pm

Hello,
I am very new to Flyinside, so please forgive me if my question has an obvious answer for you, advanced users out there.
After 2 amazing sessions (although experiencing the black flickering issue with my very new Vive) where I was finally able to figure out , I think, how to scale the interior of the plane not too look like a miniature. I have been trying to find a way to adjust my seat position. I have tried to use the regular P3D short keys, but it does not seem to do anything. I figured out the Zoom option (great feature).
Can you guys, please tell me what is the correct way to position yourself in the aircraft, and adjust my position to my liking.
Thanks for your help,
Bertrand

Hi, and welcome to the forum! To adjust your seat, you have a couple of options. You can either use the FSX/P3D controls for "eyepoint adjust" and set your position each time you start a flight, or edit config files for a more permanent solution. Defaults are:

Up Shift+Enter
Down Shift+Backspace
Left Ctrl+Shift+Backspace
Right Ctrl+Shift+Enter
Forwards Ctrl+Backspace
Backwards Ctrl+Enter
Reset Ctrl+Space

Are you saying that these don't work?
For the permanent solution, check out this post: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1578&p=7234&hilit=eyepoint+reset#p7234

Regarding scale, there is a setting in FlyInside that lets you adjust world scale. Try that! Also, make sure your IPD is set up correctly in Vive settings.

Good luck!

This may not help, but I found that on some aircraft, for some reason, it starts with the position too high (normally ok playing on the monitor) so I have to do ctrl+space to reset in FSX.

Having just gone to FI v1.51, I am fairly sure that the FI re-centre button now works a lot better than before.

The default plane (motor kite/trike) is flawless regarding seat position, head movement and cockpit scale.

However, when changing to the Cessna C172SP, everything seems out of proportion. Using the "Re-Center" button moves me right into the nose of the plane, just behind the prop and a bit to the right. Also, there is 'over-movement' when turning the head, and the cockpit seems to be oversized.

So far, I did not change any parameters in text-based config files. Would it be possible to do so and improve things per plane?

Thanks, Tony!
I have indeed guessed that something like this exists but thought it was a Vive problem ...

Maybe this can be linked in a FAQ or support page?
