Dang. I'm not on Win 8.1 anymore but on Win10, I have gone back to Dan's mirror from the SteamVR mirror since it doesn't have the edge tremors but Dan's mirror works great for captures for me. I haven't tried changing the format of Dan's mirror to a single eye view, though. I'm just doing the standard unwarped stereo view.

OBS is pretty versatile, though. I'm guessing you are aiming OBS at the mirror window and what is in the mirror window then appears in the OBS monitor window but it records black? Or is it black there and it records black - which is what I would expect if the monitor window is black. If the OBS monitor window is black, I'll bet there might be a setting that's not right in OBS.

I'm guessing you are also aware that the free Win10 upgrade is about to run out, too? That's one thing about Win10 is it supports multiple desktops. I move whatever mirror window (SteamVR or FlyInside) over to desktop 2 and maximize it. Gets me great resolution in the 1920x1080 capture.

Wish I was more help. Good luck!

I'm not a fan of the "free" Windows 10 update - you pay for it with your privacy. I may upgrade to Windows 10 but it will be a paid license if I decide to do so.

Yes I'm pointing OBS at the mirror window which I have set to 60FPS in the FlyInside settings. It SHOULD work, but the OBS screen is blank. And of course it could be just about anything in OBS.

I had set my settings according to some web page then lost the page - I've since reset to Default in OBS advanced settings so I'm guessing its something in those settings. I'm working on it - and I usually figure stuff like this out :)

Well, after dorking around with this all day yesterday and not having much luck I've decided on Monitor capture with an overlay to cover most of the screen.

Here's a recent video - I also have 3 other videos but they only capture one eye, as a result the view is not centered in the video.

This is the best I can get for now:

Dead thread walking!!

Robert - I figured out my recording issue. When the Vive is added to the system, it adds a second monitor to the system. You can see it in the Windows display properties, its a small 640x480 monitor used by the Vive. Problem was that windows did "extend the desktop across all monitors". I disabled that and whooola! Recording worked just like it did at first.

Just happened upon it - crazy.

Way cool! Glad you are back in action!

The more videos and perspectives on VR, the better IMO.

have you tried the PMDG 737 and if so have you tried programming the FMC using the VIVE?

Hi there
Works fine with lower graphics settings. You need to use the magnifying glass-just as you would need to pop up the FMC on a monitor-but it doesn't take anything away from the immersion.
