Doesn't FlyInside have its own Supersampling? You can run it allready in 4k res.

I was gonna ask about this and then i saw this thread. Will ss in the steamvr settings have any impact in FI? Does FI ignore steamvr ss setting, is it overwritten by it, or does it do ss on top of it?

I tried adding the new setting to the settings file. Played VR and didn't notice any difference with 2.5 as the value. So I checked the file and the setting was gone.

This should be equivalent to FlyInside's resolution setting. Give that a try :)

Is it possible to implement more fine tuning than the currently? There is only 4 possible settings for ss inside fi. The 3rd settings option is currently what use because the 4th takes too much of a toll on fps. Could you add an option inbetween 3 and 4?

You can use a custom resolution by editing the fly inside config file (the file name is settings_pro_FlyInside P3D_settings.ini/ settings_pro_FlyInside FSX_settings.ini, which can be found inside the folder: %appdata%\FlyInside ). I am currently running with the following resolution (still testing)
Code: Select all
Oculus Target Resolution = 4224 2346

Of course this is not as comfortable as simply selecting a resolution inside a menu, but at least you can specify the resolution granually.

As far as I know, you can use any resolution you like. But I would suggest to keep the aspect ratio (don't know if this really matters).

Simply choose a horizontal resolution (the first number) and multiply it with 0.55516 to get the second number.

Example:
  • You want to try 4000px horizontally:
    4000 * 0.55516 = 2220.64 (rounded: 2221)
Then you write the following line into the config file
    Code: Select all
    Oculus Target Resolution = 4000 2221
  • You want to try 4500px horizontally:
    4500 * 0.55516 = 2498.22 (rounded: 2498)
Then you write the following line into the config file
    Code: Select all
    Oculus Target Resolution = 4500 2498

Just try different resolutions and see what fits best for you in terms of performance and quality.

Note: Make a backup copy of your current config file
