I believe Dan is experimenting with Vive controller support. At the moment FlyInside is best used with a joystick. Leap Motion works well and is compatible with most aircraft but not required.

Cheers,

Bruce

will the htc vive controllers be better to use than the leap motion for controlling the cockpit instruments? ( i mean fidelity speaking) ?

I'm sure that fidelity-wise they will be much more precise. However, it may be more inconvenient to grab the controller first, everytime you want to interact with the cockpit. That is, if you are using joystick and throttle to fly. This is the reason I think I would prefer good Leap functionality, or some technology like the Leap that doesn't require you to hold something in your hands. And it's the reason I'm still on the fence regarding getting the Touch controllers.

I imagine, in the future, there will be one 3D camera on the HMD, and one on the positional tracker, both tracking your hands and contributing to less occlusion and more precise and stable tracking.

Controller support is coming together nicely :)

You can use the controller for cockpit controls, and even on the yoke to fly the plane if you're feeling adventurous. Video: https://twitter.com/FlyInsideFSX/status/757947683617247232

This will be released with FlyInside 1.6 soon

yes i get your point, i suppose leap motion will improve over time with better drivers etc ...
