Vive for a day

Hi folks,

Through work, I'm going to have access to an HTC Vive for the day on Thursday. I run P3D V3.2 with a reasonable rig (4790k GTX980) and was wondering if there are any big gotchas I should know about before giving this a try?

I also don't want to break my sim as it stands as it is working really smoothly for the first time in ages!

Thanks in advance!

My only advise would be to back up your P3D CFG file but this is good practice anyway.

Have fun!

Cheers Bruce, yep will do. Is the experience on Vive still inferior to the Occulus ? Unfortunately, the company we are renting them from at work only have HTC Vive's available.

I haven't had the chance to try a Vive with FlyInside (I'm a rift owner) but I have compared both headsets and they are of near identical quality/spec in my opinion. There are many FlyInside Vive users who are very happy with their set up so I don't think it's an inferior experience as such.

Looking forward to you opinion

I am one of the happy Vive Users :D
Flyinside works ok with the Vive (The Rift a little better overall),
but with Supersampling (4k) On, it looks fantastic.
What Bruce said, back up your P3D CFG and your safe.

greets, Nedo

The 15 min demo timing out started to drive me mad so purchase made.

Sitting in the Q400, the displays are so low resolution that they are simply not readable. I've upped the resolution to the max I can select in FlyInside, but is this just a limitation on the HTC Vive and it doesnt go any higher? I have to learn right in with my nose almost touching the screen to read my airspeed.

Also, black flashes for me too. Shame. Hopefully sorted soon and I think I'm going to buy a Vive now!

You really have to setup a button on your joystick for binocular zoom, it's a fantastic feature :)

Hi Tony, yeah I found that too. But even with the zoom the panel is barely readable. I mean just about if you really strain.

I wonder if this is the same experience everyone else has, or if there is something wrong with my setup
