The stutters are gone but now FI is freezing.

So the stutter problem is gone but now within about 10 minutes of starting the program freezes. My Vive tracking stops even though steamvr shows it is still properly tracking. I can open p3d menus from the monitor display still occasionally but other times the program stops responding completely. If I close p3d the frozen image of the cockpit remains in the vive display until I restart steamvr. I have tried both the beta and standard steamvr app. The FI and p3d settings don't seem to make a difference in the freeze. It also happens in all aircraft.

Just wondering, how did you eliminate the stuttering, or was it just luck?

Also, are you running FlyInside 1.52 or one of the beta versions?

Thank you for the bug report!

I am using 1.52 currently. Closing the ATC dialog box both in FI and on the desktop fixed the stutters for me.

Also of note - if I have always on reprojection checked the Vive will freeze on a frame in the cockpit and is as noted in my first post where I have to force close p3d and restart steamvr for the picture to go away. If I uncheck always on reprojection then I am returned to the FI menu in the vive when p3d freezes, but I still have to do a force close.

About the stutters. I was still getting them and haven't used FI for a while. Today I got the very latest nVidia drivers. Played for half an hour and didn't get one black frame or stutter. Very smooth experience. So I don't know if there has been a driver change recently. But it was an improvement.

Right now the pascal Titan only has one driver since it's release. I wiped my 980ti drivers and did a clean install too.

For anyone having similar issues - the problem seemed to be Precision X / MSI Afterburner. Closing it out stopped the problem. I had a flight that was saved when the Precision X was enabled that continues to crash, but as long as I have loaded a new flight everything runs fine now.
