A2A Cherokee frequent crashes

I'm not sure what's causing the crashes, but they happen in all kinds of different ways. Sometimes FSX just shuts down and disappears (no "error detected" window from Windows). More interesting is when everything goes black and eventually I'll see a red "overspeed" popup on the bottom because my plane is nosediving. After the plane crashes, the FSX window disappears.

All up to date with 1.62.

And while I'm here: the compass heading bug highlights, but doesn't respond to input.

ETA: Some more details:

Display in FSX and the Vive go black, but it's just the cockpit view. I can hit "esc" and open up the menu to end the flight. But when I get to the main FSX menu, I get a debug/shutdown notice from Windows.

(Also a ton of phantom buttons above the right dash, and the gyro drift knob doesn't respond)

I'm being more diligent about looking at event logs... This was a crash that came *after* ending flight and entering main menu. I don't know if FI is responsible or not, but I'm passing it along.

I have this exact same problem with the A2A c172. I haven't had time to narrow it down, but like you - it's not just triggered by one thing. Although it's quite possibly not a problem with Flyinside specifically, it does only happen when I'm using Flyinside (as opposed to just flying on the desktop. I'll let you know if I can narrow it down a bit more.

If you want to dig deeper search for "Event' in WIndows 10 Cortana, look under Administrative Events and check out the lists for "Error" and "Critical." Shouldn't take too long. Windows 7 might be more involved.

And post your own bug report, too, just so they can look at the very specifics of your bug.

Is there a place I can upload the dump file?

Interesting this looks like it could be a glitch with the Interaction system. Do you still see this crash if you avoid using Leap Motion/Vive Controllers/Interaction Dot to manipulate the airplane?

Thanks,
Dan

Not using the interaction dot? This is cruelty, but I'll give it a try without and let you know how it goes.

OK, made it through the whole flight without using any VR interaction (mouse only), except for one time to open a window. The flight saved fine, but then crashed at the main menu. Crashing at the main menu doesn't bother me too much... but here's the basic info. If you want more, let me know.

Just ran through two brief sequences in vanilla. Flipped all the switches with a mouse, ended flight, then started, flipped switches and finished. No crashes in vanilla.

Are you going to try a circuit or a short flight using what switches you need and see how that goes ?
