HTC VIVE - FSX 1080ti

Postby boski » Wed Jun 21, 2017 10:46 pm

Has anyone by anychance upgraded from a 970 to a 1080ti and noticed a difference in VR FPS? I'm really hoping to upgrade just mainly for super sampling on the vive and hoping for better FPS on this.. It's not like I get bad FPS but notable black sides are there when i look left and right sometimes when FPS dips below 30.

I think FSX is a CPU heavy game, just wondering if the 1080ti users (if any) notice a big difference?

CPU: i5 6600k Stock Clock / H75
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 3200mh 16gb kit
GPU: EVGA 970 4gb

I dont use FSX but I can tell you that 970 to 1080Ti will be a HUGE step forward !

I've read that FSX is CPU based though, it's my only worry.. I'd just love a bit more FPS in some of the more detailed payware craft and with a bit more demanding sceneries.

With the TI it wouldn't be super great with FSX but defo an improvement. Maybe give xplane 11 demo a try? You'd see good improvement there ;)

With Prepar3d v4 out now in 64 bit, you'll even find better performance over FSX. Just another option for you.

Maybe investing in a I7-7700K (and oc it) instead of a 1080ti will give you a few frames more as FSX is cpu bound.
