CV1 vs Samsung gear vr??

hi all

i have zero experience with VR. but was very excited about the idea and my only target for VR is P3D and flyinside,although yestersday i was in samsung store
and got to try the samsung gear with samsung demo short video. It was a total turn off for me ,the resolution was very bad that i can see the pixels much worse it was multicoloured too(i learned later thats called Screen door effect SDE).even more dissapointing i did my search and found out that oculus has even lower resolution.


my questions for CV1 users

how is it compared to samsung gear?? is the clarity better? is the gauges readable in PMDGs?is the SDE that clear like samsung gear?

last can u send a pic that somehow describes the clarity and SDE in CV1 using FSX or P3D??

I think it's impossible to show a photo that give an accurate impression of SDE or how the screen looks when the rift (or vive) is in use. My best advice is to try and find one to demo.

If you don't have a store locally that can demo try and find a local enthusiast (maybe via Reddit?) who will demo a modern HMD?

I had the Oculus DK2, which worked well in DCS flight simulation (some screen door effect).
I now have the Oculus CV1. CV1 works better (less screen door effect), and no 'juddering' at all.

Flyinside works good with Oculus CV1 (never tried it with DK2). I have a Samsung S7 phone, but never tried the VR with it.
In my opinion, it is best to go with Oculus CV1 for the best experience.

I have both, and the CV1 is way more comfortable.

I can only stand about 15 minutes at a time with the Gear VR.

I just sold my GearVR when I got my Rift CV1. The difference is apples and oranges in quality. The clarity, SDE, judder, FOV, everything is much much better. You have to lean in for certain readability, but comparing it to a GearVR is would be like going from driving a go-kart to a Ferrari.

I searched the forums for a clear answer but very confusing
Some people says they can read all the gauges without even leaning
And others says its unflyable!!!!
