My Cub Simpit for VR

Postby Kilstorm » Wed Jun 08, 2016 12:56 pm

Hello! New guy here. Been simming since FS98 and love what the future holds in simming with developers like Daniel and his creation for VR along with all the other developers out there. I have two sims, one for non VR flying which is a 4 seater bush type setup and my new simpit which is a Cub type setup for VR. I have the VR setup for stick and rudder for mostly A2A planes, gliders and helos and loving VR. I made a video for another project as a pirep of sorts but this video shows both the sims if anyone is interested.

You can search my vimeo page to see the build out of the cub and other videos of the bigger simpit if you are interested...along with some of my drone videos as thats another hobby of mine.

Well thats about it. My user name is Kilstorm but my name is Nathan and I live in Nantucket, MA. Nice to be a part of this community.

Welcome.....

Love the Cub simpit...that's where the VR flying can really shine. A2A Cub and Texan along with the RealAir Legacy are where I mostly put my VR to use.

I've gotta say I've never even thought of putting 'back seats' in my simpit, as in your larger C182 setup. I don't think anybody in my family wants to sit in the back seat and watch...except maybe the cat

Yeah I had the space and wanted the feel of a cozy type simpit. Rarely is there anyone in there but me but its nice that it is set up with drink holders for four to enjoy a bit of fun in flight with others if the occasion arises. I modeled it to be like a DHC2 Beaver but with lack of a good one in P3D currently (cant wait for Milviz one) its set up to be anything from a Cessna/Piper to a Dash 8.

Actually this simpit is in the back of a box van..heres a video I did for last years Flight Sim Con where I took it for show.

That is very nice. Having set up to where it should be as per the simulation must be a LOT to strengthen your sense of presence.

Hi Nathan,

Nice to see you over here. Yours is the neatest simpit I've seen yet. Congratulations on a super effort.

Cheers, Jim
