Postby Forza42 » Mon Jun 13, 2016 1:39 pm

hello

is there a way to have an option like ''pixel density'' into DCS or Unreal Engine ?

If you go to FlyInside Settings, changing the resolution should have the same effect as pixel density :) Pixel density is just a different way of multiplying the render target resolution up.

But even with the pixel density option, would that still help in any regards? As i understand you would still be limited to the HMD resolution.Increasing the pixel density will just increase the load on the GPU to output those many pixels.

Yes, Pixel Density scaling works wonders. As you point out, you're still limited with the actual resolution of the HMD, but it works.

With DCS, the instruments are much clearer and there is a lot less shimmering. I find it very hard to fly without it and when using Fly-Inside, I setup the Oculus Debug Tool to increase the Pixel Density to 2.0 before starting the Oculus and Fly-Inside and it works great, but it would be nice to have the API built into Fly-inside and not have to rely on the Debug Tool.

I guess the oculus debug tool thing does not work for everybody. It didnt work for me. It only introduced more stutters.

Depending on your setup, it may cause too much load on your system. I run the system below, and I can't use it with Project Cars without getting stutters too, but Fly inside runs OK.

Does utilizing DSR (Nvidia) improve the image at all?

Not in my experience as it, and changing resolutions only seems to effect the main monitor and has no effect on the Rift.
