Sound problem

Postby J0nx » Sun Jun 26, 2016 4:37 pm

Very odd issue I'm seeng with a specific aircraft where I get no sound with it. Have tried 2 other aircraft and the sound works fine through the rift headset but the dodosim does not get sound. Sound works fine in regular fsx outside the rift with the dodo but not with fly inside. If I load the dodo first then sound won't work at all with any other aircraft either until fly inside is exited and restarted with another aircraft and then once the dodo is loaded sound stops again. The sound and music at the fsx menu screen works fine just not when the dodo cockpit is loaded. Please help since I bought this software primarily to work with the dodo.

Also, the default start position in the cockpit is way too low and aft of the optimal seating position and I have to hit ctrl/enter/backspace etc to get it right. Is there a way to hard set my desired seating position? Thank you.

I found this link online which is exactly what's happening for me.

I am using the most recent runtime from a few days ago with a cv1. Hardware Specs are below.

Update: now I'm not getting sound at all in the cockpit on any aircraft. Sound works perfectly in every other VR game and works fine in the fsx menu just nothing in the cockpits.

How long does it take to get responses from the company? I sent this to that support email yesterday morning at 730 about 28 hours ago and still haven't heard anything. I'd kinda like to start using this program with FSX soon if possible.

The "company" is just one guy, the developer. Usually he responds quickly to all inquiries, and the support he's giving is fantastic for being just one guy, but I guess he's got to take some time off every now and then as well. Give it some time, and I'm sure he'll get back to you!

Ok sounds good, I'll continue to wait :)
But let's not chastise the customer for wanting to use the product they paid for ASAP. Thanks!

Not my intention to chastise in any way, just letting you know it's not a big company that makes FlyInside. I completely sympathize with you regarding wanting to fly the DodoSim ASAP, it's my favourite as well!

A silly question maybe, but have you checked the FlyInside in-cockpit volume control? It's on the FlyInside tag with the fps counters in cockpit.

Also, have you made sure that the Rift audio is set as default playback device in Windows?

Good point Axel. The rift does do funny things with the sound. It auto selects itself for some games and others you have to override???
