CV1 "blurry" where DK2 is not with FI

Postby Simon853 » Thu Jul 07, 2016 4:24 pm

I got my CV1 a couple of days ago. I'm finding I'm getting eye strain using it with P3D and FI where with the DK2 I did not. Despite adjusting the mechanical eye separation correctly, the image appears a little out of focus which is most noticeable when looking at mountains in the distance. This makes my eye start to hurt after about 20 mins of use. I could fly in the DK2 for hours unaffected.

Anyone else have similar experiences going from DK2 to CV1?

Is it possible that you aren't in the "sweet spot"? In addition to the eye separation slider, the actual position (up and down) of the headset on your face, along with tightness, can make a big difference. CV1 should be an improvement over DK2 when correctly positioned :)

I also found this an issue. Trying to focus my eyes continuously. I had a bad case of the dreaded blurries when I set my frames to unlimited. I reduced down to 30 and it has made a huge improvement, and not had any impact of the overall VR experience. I need to more experimenting when my pesky kids aren't around to bother me.
