Flyinside settings for rift cv1

Postby gmemb » Mon Jul 18, 2016 5:11 pm

When I change the resolution in the flyinside settings to 3840 x 2340 I notice stuttering that can get quite annoying. If I reduce the resolution it seems to go away. Is this normal?
I am running a GTX1080 on an i7-4770k. I haven't done any overclocking just running everything stock.

Same thing happens to me.
So I stay at 2880x resolution and use the oculus debug tool to increase pixel density.

While using 3840x2340 the FPS says 50+/90 but the stuttering is unplayable.

Any chance you could tell me how to increase pixel density, please please ?

The high settings are equal to the pixel density tool and using both is detrimental and will cause judders. Dan had already built this into flyinside. You can download the Oculus sdk and the tool is in there. Try lowering settings first usually 1.2 then increase. But I doubt the increase would be worth it. The ultra settings in flyinside is equivalent to the higher settings on the tool.

Reduce your AA settings. It worked for me. Now running at full res with no stutters.

Reduce MSAA, and disable SMAA, from FlyInside Settings. That should help :)

If I choose disable SMAA in Flyinside Settings then why does it say 5 in the flysinside config file. It seems SMAA isn't being disabled? I thought I might share my finding to this converstation
i5820K OC 4.3ghz 2x980 SLI, 16GB, P3d v4, Windows 10 Pro (Latest release), Rift CV1, NV Drivers latest 7/4/17

Don't worry, 5 in the config file means disabled for SMAA. That is correct :)

I'm looking into this very strange stuttering despite good FPS issue
