Cockpit stuttering on 1080

Postby jimnightshade » Wed Sep 28, 2016 11:43 pm

I'm running an i7-4770 with a GTX1080 in FSX and no matter what settings I try, from ultra high to very low, turning smaa and fxaa off in flyinside, running at the lowest resolution, NOTHING I try will stop the judder when looking around the cockpit of a 737. Flying is judder free even on ultra high, but looking around the cockpit will judder every time. I did not ever have this problem on my 760 card! What am I missing???

Which Drivers are you using for your 1080?

I had problems with the latest (372) but the 368.81 drivers run absolutely fine on my 1080

Jim go into nvidia settings and I think your 1080 might be bottlenecked. I can't remember the exact setting but I think you select performance overide? I'll look for previous posts for you and let you know.

Here ya go, try this = Make sure you set your "power management" to "prefer maximum performance" in the Nvidia control panel.

Hi, My name is Josh and I work for Nvidia Techincal Support. We would like to help troubleshoot the issue you are having but require specific logs.

1.If you could make sure the system has the latest 372.90 drivers installed

2. Then use this link to start logs. http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/ ... or-gpuview

3. Recreate the problem and then stop the log. Send me a link to download the logs.

Thank you,
Josh

Hi Josh, very reassuring that one Nvidia guy is looking at issues here. It seems that reports are coming indicating performance is variable across the driver spectrum. Currently lots of people using older drivers whom have less issues. I am on 372.54 atm. I discovered that enabling Gen3 PCI on my x79 based mobo helps a lot with jitter. However there are instances when white flashes come and go into the right eye in particular in my CV1. Other optimisations in the driver which might give us better frames in general will be much appreciated! ;)

I bought a very expensive GTX 1080 now. Flyinside is stuttering like hell! Absolutely not usable. The performance hub (Oculus Debug Tool) shows only red graphs up and down.

...make sure PCI Gen3 is enabled for your motherboard!...if you have an X79 chipset based board!

Cockpit is supposed to judder with flyinside.. It's utterly rare that you'd be able to keep 90 frames per second in FSX or P3D.

GFX: MSI 1080 Gaming X
