No go on FSX

Postby k9ulan » Wed Nov 02, 2016 4:20 pm

Hello. I purchased and love Fly inside with P3D. I decided to get the demo and try it on FSX SE because I like the F18 mission on there. Amway. Everything goes fine until I get to where I should be in the cockpit and its just black screen. I hit the F10 F11 and so-on, sometimes I get a cockpit on one lense. (the whole cockpit" but against a black backdrop." Anyone run into this.
Thanks in advance.

If you go and find the fsx.cfg and save and rename it fsx.cfg_old then let FSX rebuild. Just confirm you don't have ezdok ?

Hi k9ulan -

It actually sounds like you are experiencing the 2D cockpit. If you have the 2D cockpit enabled (or accidentally switch to it) you'll get a weird screen in the Oculus that either is completely black or shows some of the cockpit with a black background. Have you tried hitting F9 once FSX fully loads the sim?
System Specs: Windows 10 Pro x64, Asus Z170 Pro Aura, Intel i7-6700, 32gigs RAM, GeForce GTX 1080, FSX Acceleration, Retail Oculus Rift (runtime 1.9)

k9ulan, to get to your FSX config files try the following:
1. Press WinKey+R for "Run" dialog
2. Enter %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX
3. Press Enter

If that doesn't work try %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX-SE instead.

You should see a bunch of configuration files. I recommend removing cameras.cfg, along with the FSX ones, to clear out old settings which could be preventing this from working :)
