Oculus Rift 1.10 Update - 11 November

Postby joe_rowe » Fri Nov 11, 2016 7:12 pm

Hello all,

Just get everything working sweet - finally. Settle down to some P3D Helicopter flying and I have to re-set up my rift for an update?!

Start P3D and now only have 39/45 FPS with flyinside. I had rock solid 39/93 before the CV1 update, things do look clearer, but 39/45 is no good for flying.

Has anyone else had this? as I have changed nothing pre and post update. Thanks in advance.

Hello Tony, my Oculus just automatically updated to Oculus 1.1 and now having issues with FlyInside. I'm was running on unlimited FPS but now Instead of getting */90 I'm getting */45. I know that this is because of ASW being enabled by default with Oculus 1.1 but I can't switch it off. CTRL + KP1 doesn't work and after Googling it, it would seem that Oculus removed the option to turn it off unless there's a registry entry I can add but cant find yet. P3D does run smoothly enough, however now, in my peripheral vision, there is really bad flickering which is really distracting and ruins any immersion. I've been trying different settings and found that if I limit the FPS to a low figure like 20, FlyInside shows 20/90 in game and the flickering goes away but then the sim isn't smooth any more. It would seem that unless the second figure is 90, I get flickering and the only way to get 90 is to limit the FPS to a figure which P3D will not dip below. I suppose there's nothing you can do on your side?

Hi mate. It seems some cards and some drivers may be causing issues ??? I'm trying to find somewhere on the web that overrides ASW. Personally I'm one of the few that hasn't got 1.10 yet. But I bet it won't be long.

It seems to work lovely for some and not for others.

Thanks for the replies, I got it sorted. When using CTRL + KP1 you have to have NUMLOCK on. All is back to normal now. I did find however that ASW works really well in DCS.

ASW support is coming soon, although it's a bit hit/miss with FlyInside still. If it's causing problems, Ctrl+NumPad_1 disables it, as Tezza mentioned :)
