90/45 FPS + pixelised edges

Postby WetBlanket » Tue Nov 29, 2016 2:21 pm

Hello together,
I have P3D V3.4 installed on a i7 6700K with GTX9800Ti and 32GB DDR4.
Last time, I started P3D on monitor use without using Flyinside in the Rift CV1. Now, when using the Rift and Flyinside again, I have the issue, that my FPS in the Flyinside_Menue are shown like 90 (perhaps real) FPS by 45 estimated (90/45). It changes sometimes while turning my head from /45 to /90 (like before the monitor use). While having the /45 experience, i have no smooth picture and stops (because of the low fps) and flickering or pixelating edges all around in the Rift. When it switches in an instance to /90 fps, everythings works smooth and looks fine. On monitor view, when removing the rift, everything looks fine too.
Does anybody else know this problem and found a solution so far?
I tried several things like changing the solution of the rift or the details and textures in the sim. I started on orbx airports or a basic ones with no additional scenery. All the same result.
Thanks ahead for thoughts and solving tips.
Regards, Martin

Hi Martin,

This seems to be an issue with the latest Oculus update which uses the new ASW ( Asynchronous Space Warp) by default.
If your fps drops below 90 at all, for any reason, the ASW cuts in and runs at 45fps, giving stutters.
Have a look at some of the other posts on the forum about this.
What worked for me is to press Ctrl and Numpad 1. This should inhibit Oculus ASW and you should get your 90 fps back.

Perfect, Brit.
This solved my issue by an instance.
Thanks a lot.
