New tower build for FlyInside FSX

Postby melonmechanic » Wed Jul 15, 2015 10:27 pm

Hey everyone,
I just got my rift last night and was dismayed to learn that my GTX 860m on my ASUS ROG laptop uses Optimus and therefore is no good for playing with the rift. I'm looking to do a pc build that will be up to snuff. My current thoughts are between a GTX 970 and a GTX 980ti with an i7 and 16gb of DDR3. I know the 980ti will obviously be powerful enough. But I'm looking for what you all have had success with in FSX and FlyInside. Especially if anyone has gotten the PMDG 737 to work which is my current fav plane.

I fly p3d with the pmg 737 without issue. Feels great being in the cockpit but to cannot read anything in there and there are so many tiny click spots it loses its appeal after doing a few cold and darks. You struggle to program the fmc too. The hud works great though!
Most of the time I fly it on my 49" 4k as it is too fiddly in the rift.
