How do we make night flights more realistic?

Hi all!

I was wondering: What are your settings for night flights in FSX? I find the night too bright, especially the clouds and the water textures. It always reminds me of these old movies, where the night scenes would be shot during the day, and some kind of color filter added to make it look like night because actually shooting at night would have been too expensive. FSX in the Rift feels a bit like that.

Before we had FI and the Rift, the problem could be tackled by adjusting brightness, contrast and gamma for the monitor. I've already tried lowering the new color adjustment settings all the way to -0.9. But then, there is a lot of black smearing going on and even the lights and the cockpit become quite pale.

On some forums, people suggest a mod called "ENB series" to make nights darker. Has anyone tried that with the Rift and FI?
