Foveation

Just for those of you that haven't seen it, from a post on the Oculus Forum, https://forums.oculus.com/community/dis ... ver#latest, it would appear that there might be some middle ground before the fully-fledged, eye-tracked, foveated rendering comes along.

This solution appears to track just the head movement rather than the eyes, but from the poster, it would still appear to free up a fair bit of gpu resource by not having to render the players peripheral vision in as much detail.

I understand that there will probably be higher priorities, but it would be great if FI and/or X-Plane could get some of this. Hypothetically, would such a thing even be possible, given the relationship that the two pieces of software have to have to give us VR in X-Plane?
