X-Plane 11, on-demand windows?

Hey Mates,

Really enjoying Xp11 with Flyinside!

Question:

In x-plane viammonitor, I can click on gps units to make them a bigger, 2d version for easier interaction. Also, when I click the button for ATC interaction, a menu pops up to facilitate it. The menu goes away when click it again.

While inside the HMD, clicking these items does not make them visible,though they do show up in the mirrored display. If I break these items completely out of x-plane (making them stand-alone windows outside of the xplane app), I can see them in the hmd as imported windows. But they are always visible? I cannot close/ minimize them in the HMD and open them up as needed without it being a convoluted process?

Please tell me I am missing something? Is there currently a way to easily open and close the pop-out gps and ATC windows from within the HMD on-demand?

Will eventually try pilot edge, but I want to be able to proficiently operate the avionics from within the headset first.
