Shimmers

Postby severniae » Thu Aug 16, 2018 8:02 am

Hi All,

I've tried the P3D forum but nobody seems to be replying to me in there...

I tried P3D 4 last year but couldn't manage to use it as the 'shimmer reduction' option was not working.

I'm trying to find out if:

A, it has been fixed?

or

B, if not, how would one go about reducing the shimmer that is present in the cockpit without this shimmer reduction option? And will it reduce shimmer enough?

Thanks in advance,

James

Anyone?

Every time I post its eerily quiet. Has Flyinside died? I hope not!

I have reduced most of the shimmer by using different graphic settings. Go to OPTIONS and then DISPLAY, under AA set this to 4 x SSAA, Anisotropic set at x16 and texture resolution set at HIGH (2048 x 2048). This gives me the best results, I have reflections off as SSAA settings can hit your frame rates, I have a 1080 so no major issues. Hope this helps.

Same as Malexdu, using the same ingame options. My framerate is not as good as it used to be (and I've given up on any of the more demanding addons, especially airliners but at least things look good again. It's a pity that instead of progressing, I feel like my VR simming experience is slowly going backwards (performance going worse mostly).

Thx this helped me out! What's your resolution multiplier in the FI-settings menu?
