XP11 Leap Morion Camera View?

Postby spankybus » Sat Aug 12, 2017 4:07 pm

Hey Mates,

Is camera view not yet ready for xp11? I'll be honest, I am not sure how to make it work, so I could be doing it wrong. However, the manual doesn't have any listings for leap operations beyond setup.

Before I go nuts trying to get it working, I wanted to ask if it even works yet. Also, is there another resource for how-to's for flyinside?

What do you mean by Leap Motion Camera View?

The external cameras work the same like in standard XP11 for now:
Shift+1, Shift+2 etc etc

I bet you can assign them to any other key/button, too.

Sorry, the leap motion camera can be passed into the VR headset? So you can see outside the headset to you yoke, mouse, avionics, etc.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I've done all of that.

To be clear, hand tracking is working. I can see my virtual hands and interact with some of the avionics.

What I am confused about is the idea of a 'pass through' camera settings, camera on/off and opacity settings within Flyinside specifically.

Beyond seeing virtual hands in my field of view, should I be able to see anything else? What does the opacity settings control? It doesn't seem to change anything for me.

Just making sure I am not missing out on any functionality.

Ok, so this is from the manual:

Hand Tracking
Enable/Disable Hand Tracking - Allows you to turn the Leap Motion on and off
Show/Hide Leap Motion Camera - Shows a camera overlay so that you can see the world around you <----

In bold, This function does not see to do anything in X-plane 11. Should this be working already? Should it do what it sounds like (let me see outside the headset).

I have enabled images on the leap motion setup, but no camera overlay appears. Please advise.

I'd like to get an answer to this too. Does 1.8 still not support leap's external camera ?
I've tried a lot of different settings and I'm not able to get it to come up.
Has anyone had success ?

First off, spankybus i am sorry for totally missing your post :( I know Dan and the devs have big plans for leap in the near future. I'll point them to this post to give you a definitive answer. My apologies once again and sorry to make you feel that way.
