Poor performance in P3D v4.5

So I started to get back in to VR flying again and loaded up FI in P3D v4.5. No matter what I do I can't seem to break 20/90. I have an i9 9900k with 64GB ram and a 2080ti on a vive pro. I've pretty much turned down all settings and sitting at the gate with no traffic in the FSLA320 with just active sky enabled 20/90 is peak. If I start moving my head about FPS is between 8-15. Is this something Im doing wrong? I lowered to 2k textures, and turned all sliders to the left as a test and no dice. Side note, most of the time the sim crashes right before I drop in to the VC. It has about a 20% chance of actually working. Not sure why it works sometimes. In standard 2d mode my FPS is usually no less than 25-30 at a major airport.

So I fixed the crashing issue - when I reinstalled I never cleared the old settings and other files out of the users\profile\ect.... directory. Now that Im back in the air - even at cruise in the FSLA320 - I can't break 20/90. I literally turn off all eye candy and it doesn't make a difference. Any ideas on the poor performance?

Yeah, I noticed the same thing with the new version. I think Fly-Inside for P3D is essentially dead. The performance is far better in native VR but the eyepoint is absolutely frustrating to manage for me to the point I've pretty much given up on P3D for awhile. I'm hoping another developer realizes the opening in the market to replace Fly Inside.

Back when the developer actively supported it, it was amazing and a must-have but it's kind of gone by the wayside now.

I agree and kinda felt the same way. The dev has his own sim now - which is great for competition and pushing other devs further - but it seems this has taken a backseat. Native VR performance seems better although there's a slight wobbly look in my image which I think is performance related. I also have the dreaded white box pop ups in the FSL bus or I'd probably have left default VR. Such a shame as FI has such potential.

Flyinside isn't dead and is still supported as the latest update to 4.5 fix proved. What fps do you get with native ?

Ill have to uninstall FI and reinstall the client. Unless theres an easier way? That seemed to be the only way to restore the native VR support.

I seem to remember a similar issue I had with p3d last year but for the life of me cannot remember. I was getting solid 20/90. I have a 2080ti like you and get good results. Just a silly question, you don't have your fps slider set to 20 do you ? If it's on unlimited then try 30 or 40. The xx/90 is perfect which shows Flyinside is working as it should ;)

Sorry Tony for the delay in response - I recently moved end of april in to may and haven't had much time simming. Im actually on a fresh format currently and at LGA RWY31 I have about 9fps in native - so I guess not too far off from FI. I had such a better experience on the rift when FI first came out - I guess upgrading to the vive pro resolution destroyed all performance which kinda sucks as the visuals are pretty darn good. The in VC displays just aren't crisp enough for me but who knows maybe ill go back. The vive pros headphones kinda suck compared to my headset I used to use with the rift.

Ill still never forget pulling in to the pattern to JFK when I was using the PSX live traffic injector - seeing all the other AC at night, knowing they were real - almost made the entire experience feel real.

Side question - is the weather radar issue fixed with the FSL bus and FI? I remember reading that was the reason behind the issues I had with the missing weather radar.
