FTX ORBX Compatibility?

Postby Voodoo » Fri Jul 24, 2015 8:25 am

I have P3Dv2.5 and Flyinside working together very well. I have always wanted to use the FTX and ORBX scenery. Have you guys been able to use that with Flyinside?
Any tips on installation if I do this?
Thanks

No compatibility issues. I use it. In my case at least, I'm finding it less prone to OOM errors than FSX

Thank you, so is there a difficult process to go through to add NA Northern California?
Thanks

Hey Voodoo, I had thought NA Northern California required the Global Base but I just checked the docs and see no mention of that.

So the process is just to install it. You'll need your order details and license key but after that it just goes. There is a patch (OrbxFTXNAGoldNCAPatch001) and also an update to the Orbx libraries (FTXORBXLIBS_P3Dv2_150331). There might even be some further updates but these are what I downloaded when I installed it. Their FTX Central utility will check for updates and install them for you so look for that once you install NA Nor Cal. You may already have that if you are running other Orbx scenery.

They have a users guide too that goes into recommended settings in P3D but that may need a bit of massaging running it extra hard in VR.

It's beautiful stuff, though! Enjoy!

I only have issue with autogen generation lagging in FlyInsideP3D and FTX ORBX Wales. No issues with other areas so far.

Still testing to see if it's FTX Wales in P3D issue or FlyInsideP3d + FTX Wales issue.

Hey Voodoo, maybe I already asked but I forget who has said and who hasn't. I see you have two GTX Titans. Are you running SLI?
