Slightly jurky gtx 1080

Postby stewart » Sun Oct 15, 2017 4:03 am

Hi all im using the new ver for p3d 4.1 im having trouble getting it nice and smooth. What drives are you all using with the gtx1080 and what settings in flyinside. It seems now i have to lower the settings a lot more than i use to when i have p3d v3x and im now not really enjoying it as much :(. IU use to be able to run p3d on max settings with flyinside and it was mint (p3dv3x) but now i have to drop them heaps and its still not smooth

my system

i7 6700k at 4.7ghz
32gb gskill ram 2400
gtx1080 on latest drivers

I'm on the same hardware as you still running the old P3Dv3. To be honest, it was never nice and smooth (I mean really smooth). I thought it was because I installed the latest video drivers, but to be honest, I think it is my brain. What I mean is I'm focusing on the hesitations which make them more apparent and significant than they actually are. No amount of fiddling with settings or tweaks changes it, so it must be a combination of an non-optimized simulator not really built for VR and my overly sensitive awareness to hesitations. Cheers.

yea i know what you mean BUT i can differently see a performance drop on v4.1 than on v3x and my sliders are way down from where they use to be and also some ticketed boxes i had ticked in v3 are now not ticked in v4 just to get it good. It run way way better in v3x for me and im running the same add-ons to. Maybe im just asking for to much lol. Bring on the next gen off video cards and cpu's :)

Agreed, it is much jerkier. I suspect it's going to get updates soon. For now I will go back to my monitors and hope it gets sorted.

I'm having similar issues, to the point where I am getting 45 FPS in the game but 20-30 in the headset.

I have tweaked a couple things and it seems that the dynamic vegetation option is what seemed to make it run better. I am still getting better performance in FSX:SE.

I will gladly post logs for the devs, I just need to know what you all need to see.
