Cheers mate I'll keep trying with it. It does run on my pc OK, no complaints there, was a bit miffed to be told to beta it for them. They are saying it'll be released before years end. Hopefully that will be the case ;)

The joys of being a beta tester and first adopter huh!
Out of the box XP11 has much more going for me than P3D!
Autogen stretches out to the horizon without any pop in!

I haven't bothered downloading xp11 yet. There is just nothing major new too it for me that I can see. A new UI and some fancier lighting? Multi monitor support running at 15fps? Come on laminar! It should have been called x-plane 10.6. I was hoping for a move away from outdated OpenGL and some serious improvements to the core engine. Instead they altered a perfectly usable UI to appease the fsx crowd and added graphical eye candy to take advantage of increases in graphics card power since the launch of xp10. Nothing to increase performance, nothing to aid VR in the slightest. Having seen their opinions of VR I'm not surprised though. They haven't the slightest interest in VR support.

Can't disagree more! I'd encourage you to try XP11 before you bash it. I think this will be a far more stable platform than P3D/FSX going forward.
I think LR deserve credit for developing this sim. The autogen is miles better than any other sim around now.
All we need is VR support now.

I tried the demo. The performance was poor, and the graphics were glitchy. Pop in of night lighting was far worse than XP10. Right now I see no compelling reason to switch to XP11. Personally I don't care if the reflections on the underside of the wing show the right amount of gloss and shadow and it baffles me that they waste time on trivial features such as that when their ATC is borked. I saw no one complaining that the graphics weren't good enough or the menu was too hard to use, but there are pages discussing the lack of proper ATC for example. It makes me wonder how they set their priorities.
