Temporary 2D Question

I'm in the process of the trial for my FI with XP on my new Vive. Incredible. I had 2 quick questions. First, is there a way to temporarily turn off the VR settings? I spend a good bit of time at the FMS preflighting and at this point it is much easier with a keyboard and monitor. Secondly, when I pull up the menu my fps shows up as ~20/90. What are these 2 numbers and why are they so different? Thanks!
