FOV Setting

Postby juniormafia27 » Fri Dec 16, 2016 1:51 pm

So I set the FOV to 54% in XP11.....I was able to get maximum sharpness. But the downside is black cube vision....looks like I am looking through a box. Anyone have a solution to this without sacrificing sharpness?

The basic equation is "angular resolution = Render_Resolution / FOV". If you decrease FOV, things will get sharper. The alternate, is that you can increase your resolution setting under FlyInside Settings. The higher the clearer everything will look :)

Actually related to this i was wondering if the FOV in XP11 should be set to a specific value to better match the goggles (110 degrees).. and likewise the FOV setting in FI, which defaults to 103..

I think in the XP11 settings my fov is something like 75% or similar (default? unsure?).. this has any bearing on FI+goggles view?

For FI I moved the 103% up to 110.. does this better match the max viewable angle in the Rift goggles..

I was never clear on this and with P3D there wasnt a p3d fov setting, short of zoom.
